San Francisco, CA – Feb 26th 2012 – The latest 1.7 version of Neyrinck’s V-Control Pro media application controller for iPad and iPad mini is now available from the Apple App store and includes a host of new features. Version 1.7 adds an innovative jog/scrub/shuttle wheel, new features for Logic 9, layout preferences, and an improved floating V-Window feature for controlling Plug-ins and Instruments from the iPad. Also, the skins for controlling Media Composer and Final Cut Pro 7 now have a new layout permanently featuring the jog wheel more suited to video editing applications.
Founder, Paul Neyrinck and his team put a lot of work into the new release, “Adding the jog/scrub/shuttle wheel was a challenge because it needs to be large so it is easy to use without hunting and pecking. We could have simply made narrow faders to clear space for a wheel the way all the cheap controller apps do. But that is a lazy design compromise and the faders end up too close to each other.”
Paul explains that the final design uses an innovative way to incorporate the wheel, “We worked hard until we found an elegant solution on both the iPad and the iPad-mini by double tapping to show and hide the wheel. We also added some great new preference options for the transport section. Many of our users love V-Control because they can walk around a live venue and adjust the mix of the pre-recorded backing tracks. But they don’t want to accidentally hit Stop while Lil Wayne is rapping! Now they can place the transport at the top and/or disable the transport controls. We also added some cool Logic 9 features and made some usability improvements for Pro Tools and Cubase users. I think our customers will be very impressed.”
V-Control Pro is available from the Apple App store for $49.99 and is a free update for existing customers. Also available is V-Control Free so users can make sure V-Control works well with their favorite app. Users can downloaded the latest Ney-Fi driver app for their Mac or PC from the Neyrinck website. V-Control Pro includes control skins for Audition, Cubase, Digital Performer, Final Cut Pro 7, Live, Logic Pro, MIO Console, Pro Tools, Media Composer, Reaper, Reason, Studio One, SONAR, Tracktion and a generic Mackie Control skin.
