I was getting freeze on ipad after install and connection.
I have set up as directed ensuring midi all is unchecked but still the control on the ipad freezes after a short while of working ok, in a minute or two say.
Is this a known issue with Cuibase 5 and windows Vista is the pc op system. What can I do next?

V-Control Pro is freezing and crashing after using it with Cubase 5? I haven’t heard about this issue yet. Can you tell me which versions of Ney-fi and V-Control Pro you are currently running? Is it the latest 1.8? One common thing that may help is making sure Bluetooth is disabled on the iPad. I do not think that the issue is related to connection strength, but I have seen stranger things. Thank you.October 19, 2014 at 1:03 pm #47960
Firstly – apologies for delay in responding and thank you for you post. I thought that I would get an email when the question had been commented on, I have double checked that the notification is checked and we will see if it works OK this time.
The Ney-fi is 1.8 and was installed just prior to the last post I sent so downloaded on the 22nd of September, I had disabled blue tooth on the i pad but still getting the freeze after a minutes playing.
I have the money for the full blown version but naturally will wait until i get this demo working without freezing.
to restart after freezing I am closing down the app on iPad then restarting it and using the reset in the Devices tab on Cubase 5October 20, 2014 at 7:25 am #47961
I removed the settings completely in device manger in Cubase and re-installed as per the video and all is well.
I think the instructions somewhere mentioned adding v control checks in the correct place but this is done automatically by the second action of setting v-control.
Anyway I updated and appears ok unless I change instruments via mouse on pc from say tenor sax to string section. This action appears to break the connection.October 20, 2014 at 6:14 pm #47962
Are you changing instruments on a virtual instrument plug-in, or did you mean when you select a different channel in the mixer? Thanks!October 21, 2014 at 7:24 am #47964
It is when I change the virtual instrument. Say Channel 4 is Tenor sax, I changed from tenor sax to strings – then it stops the connection.October 27, 2014 at 8:00 pm #47968
Thanks for the information. I’ll have to see if I can replicate this on my end. It sounds like maybe it’s an error when it attempts to rename the channel maybe? Or does changing the instrument not affect the channel name?October 30, 2014 at 7:57 am #47969
I will check and get back to you, I think though from memory that the channel name is unaffected by the change.November 10, 2014 at 4:33 pm #47987

The channel name is unaffected, I am experiencing other drop outs of the control though. It appears to be unstable.November 12, 2014 at 10:38 pm #47991
Can you tell me which plug-in you are using when this happens? Have you tried it with other plug-ins? Are you using something such as Kontakt? Thank you.November 13, 2014 at 8:22 am #47992
windows vista, cubase 5, Halion symphonic Orchestra, Halion PLayer OEM
However the connectivity drop occurs when I choose any track preset from the cubase included VST sounds
Is there a utility to indicate when or why the connection is lost? I have wireless keyboard and mouse – both microsoft, the wireless transmitter for these plugs into the usb bus.
I have since experienced the loss of connectivity while simply playing the track, for some reason it is not stable.
I was the companies IT “expert” until we got too large for me to support that and my design job, so I have a reasonable understanding of hardware and software. If there is anything that could help me determine the area of concern I am willing to look deeper.

I am currently not using the app as the connectivity issue is preventing simple playback. The only way to get it to reconnect is to restart either the app and reset cubase or exit both and restart.November 21, 2014 at 7:34 pm #48010
There should be no reason for the connectivity drop when selecting through presets on a virtual instrument. It does use the Bonjour service to connect ney-fi and v-control pro. You can check with Bonjour browser if the connection is being interrupted when you change presets:

Also, if possible would you be able to send screenshots of your control surface setup in Cubase via e-mail to
